It is Thursday and that means another tutorial from our fabulous Design Team.  This week we have Cherie sharing some fabulous chipboard ideas.

Altering Chipboard

by Cherie Nymeyer

If there is one item in the scrapbook world that is at its simplest yet oh so intimidating, it would have to be chipboard. It doesn’t have to be scary though, it truly is at its most alterable state which means that there is a world of possibilities when it comes to making it that one of a kind embellishment you need to finish off your scrapbook page or card.

It starts out like this:

and can easily become this:

All you need is your imagination and a few things already in your craft room. Here are five simple, quick and easy things you can do to chipboard to create this one of a kind monogram accent.

1. You can INK IT!

2. You can PAINT IT!

3. You can add GLITTER to IT!

4. You can COVER IT with patterned paper!

5. You can EMBOSS IT!

Put it all together and you have this!

Sure you can buy premade accents by the handful at the store but why not take some great items already in your stash and create a personalized handmade item that makes your page or card truly unique!
